What to expect
SMALL GROUP TOURS
For Parents: See Billings in Action
Prospective parents and guardians will tour the Billings campus and several classes in session. Join us to see the school in action during school hours and participate in a question and answer session with the Head of School, Director of Admissions, and teachers. Tours are optional, but strongly encouraged. We will soon release tour dates (for students applying for the 2018/19 school year). Stay tuned.
For Families: Explore a Billings Education
Following a short welcome in the West Hall, prospective students and families can explore the Billings campus. Families have the opportunity to meet teachers, ask questions, and see what students are currently working on in open classrooms across our campus. Additionally, three 15-minute sessions with faculty will focus on Experiential Education, a science experiment, and the social & emotional transition to middle school. Open Houses are optional events in November 9th and December 2nd.
Student Visit Days
For Students: A Day-in-the-Life at Billings (regular admission season only!)
After receiving your completed preliminary application and parent statement, the Admissions team will invite prospective students to a Visit Day. Students will arrive at the Main Building at 8:30 am, experience Billings classes and activities firsthand. Please bring a lunch and warm clothing for walking to Green Lake Park. The Student Visit Day is central to the application process.
We do not require standardized testing, but during Visit Day we will conduct our own short assessments in Math and in Language Arts. Your student may receive accommodations for learning differences at school. If so, feel free to let us know in advance and we will be happy to provide those at Visit Day. We want all visiting students to have the best day possible.
For Parents: Help Us See and Know Your Child
After receiving your completed preliminary application and parent statement, prospective parents and guardians will be invited to talk with two Admissions team members about how Billings could stretch, support, and inspire your student during their middle school years. Interviews usually last 30 minutes, are held in the Main Building, and are central to the application process.
Sibling and Community Members
We invite siblings of Billings students or alumni, to apply to Billings in the fall. Sibling applications are due on November 14 by 4pm, the Student Visit Day is December 5, and decisions are mailed on December 12, 2017.
See High School Admissions for ISEE and SSAT testing dates.
