The Billings faculty challenge students to be critical thinkers and powerful self-advocates. When students graduate from Billings, they know how to work effectively with a broad range of teaching styles and carry the self-confidence to pursue mentor relationships throughout their lives. The Billings faculty have been recognized locally and nationally with awards, grants, and fellowships for their excellence in teaching adolescents.

   Catherine Adams    Assistant Head of School, Washington State History, 8th Grade Project, 7th Grade Advisor   Catherine Adams holds a Masters in Education (Alternative Education) and a Masters in Teaching from Antioch University.  Books that have influenced her teaching include  Pedagogy of the Oppressed  by Paolo Friere and  Experience and Education  by John Dewey. Rob Bradford joined Billings this year with 11 years of teaching experience in high school and middle school, training as a Link Leader with the Boomerang Project, 14 years of coaching experience and a BA from Hope College.  He has been inspired by reading All American Boys by Jason Reynolds. When he's not at Billings he enjoys Ultimate Frisbee, acting and performing, and spending time with his family.

 

 

 
   Sabrina Brazier  Vocal Music (all grades), Vocal Music Director & Creative Director for the Spring Musical, Arts Festival Coordinator   Sabrina Brazier is an experienced singer and educator who draws on elements of many cultures to create a rich learning environment for her students.  Her teaching has been influenced by  The Warmth of Other Suns  by   Isabel Wilkerson. When asked why he works at Billings, Jeff says, "I love teaching at Billings because of the kids. I deeply appreciate the middle school mind and all of the changes and challenges that these years bring. I teach at BMS and always have, because it's the kind of school I wish I'd gone to when I was this age. We see the kids and they see us in a way that is unique amongst all of the schools I have taught at."  Outside of Billings Jeff is passionate about being a father, environmental issues, social justice, hiking, photography, and killer whales.

When asked why she loves teaching at Billings, Sarah says, "Middle schoolers are amazing and I'm so fortunate to spend time with them both in the classroom and outdoors. I'm continually inspired by Billings students!" Outside of work she enjoys arts & crafts, ballet, and travel.

When asked why she loves teaching at Billings, Sarah says, "Middle schoolers are amazing and I'm so fortunate to spend time with them both in the classroom and outdoors. I'm continually inspired by Billings students!" Outside of work she enjoys arts & crafts, ballet, and travel.

When asked why she loves teaching at Billings, Heidi-Marie says she enjoys, "...the freedom and ability to be a goof, intellectual, dirtbag, explorer, artist, performer, and athlete alongside my students, sometimes all in the same day." She has found teaching inspiration in To Know As We Are Known by Parker Palmer. Outside of work she enjoys rock climbing, snowboarding, reading, karaoke, dancing, and traveling the world to play and coach Ultimate Frisbee.

She has been influenced by  To Kill a Mockingbird  by Harper Lee. When asked why she loves her job, Anne-Evan says, "I love middle schoolers. I love their wonder and curiosity, their honesty, their creativity, and their drama. This is my circus, and these absolutely are my monkeys!" Outside of work she is an avid reader, a cook, and a traveler.

When asked why she loves her job, Anne-Evan says, "I love middle schoolers. I love their wonder and curiosity, their honesty, their creativity, and their drama. This is my circus, and these absolutely are my monkeys!" Outside of work she is an avid reader, a cook, and a traveler.
