Tuition

2016-17 Tuition: $28,900

Based on their financial position, our families pay a broad range of tuition levels from $7,500-$28,900. See below for more information about applying for tuition assistance & important deadlines.

PLATEAU TUITION MODEL

Tuition at an excellent independent school is an investment and predicting costs is important for all our families.  Incoming families benefit from our Plateau Tuition Model --- the school's top tuition level will not change for your class during your three years at Billings.

AFFORDABILITY

Because Billings is determined to make it's education accessible to families from a wide range of economic backgrounds, the school offers a wide range of tuition. Financial support for this commitment is derived from the school's operating budget and targeted annual fundraising.

Among our families are those who can afford tuition at the top of the range and whose generosity to our fundraising campaigns provides a vital support of our operating expenses. There are also families who manage to pay tuition at the highest level only by stretching financially, those who are able to afford only minimal tuition, and those across the spectrum in between.

We encourage families to request information if they have concerns about their ability to afford tuition at the top of the range. While every family is expected to contribute to the cost of tuition and fees and to support the community to the extent individual circumstances permit, the school does not expect each families' tuition level to be the same.

application process

To help us objectively assess what a family is able to contribute to educational expenses, Billings uses School and Student Services (SSS by NAIS) as a trusted third party. We use the SSS figures as the baseline for our tuition determinations each year, taking into consideration our school's policies and the resources available.

This year, SSS by NAIS is hosting four informational webinars on "Financial Assistance for Attending Private Schools." The first is November 15 at 11 am. Find more information on the SSS bt NAIS website, or register here for the free online seminars.

The deadline to submit financial information to SSS is February 4, 2016.

Submit an online Parent Financial Statement (PFS) to SSS. Our school code for reporting data is 4135. SSS Service Center for Parents: 800-344-8328 or sss@nais.org.

Please read the Billings Financial Aid Checklist for the documents we require.

Tuition determination notifications will be sent in March at the same time as admission decision letters. The two processes are separate.  All financial information you provide will be held in strict confidence.
